Spring has arrived!

It has been months since we've felt 70 degrees. Today we came close, but not quite. The winter was very long and many days, very cold. Everyone is anxiously awaiting days when the sun is kissing your face and you don't have to wear a coat and gloves.

Kimberly finished at ORU and is working as a personal trainer! She also has been coaching a club volleyball team. Her graduation is in early May. We're having a party for her and Jeremy, who will be graduating from 8th grade (though they don't call it a graduation.) They both are complaining that I'm inviting too many people!! Moms :-D

Bob's View of Alaska

This is a cool slideshow of some pictures Bob has sent from
his traveling in Alaska. He is having a great time, is loving being in such a vast wilderness.
Frequently, he jumps on his bicycle and takes a long ride enjoying
some great scenery and God's great creation.

Dick J. and Bob are now heading south and will be coming back into the 48 states, through Washington, Oregon and finally into California to see the northern redwood forests.

4th of July; God Bless America!

Thankful.... that's what I think of when I look at our flag, the United States of America. Whenever I sing it, a big lump gets stuck in my throat and my eyes well up with tears. I can't help it; it happens almost every single time. It also happens when I see our Veterans marching in parades passing by me; their stony faces hiding their memories though if I'm able to look closely their eyes are moist.

I relish the freedom that I have in this country and try to remember not to take it for granted. I am thankful for the opportunity to worship freely, to speak my mind without fear of arrest or punishment, to travel to any state in the US with complete freedom.... no permissions necessary. I also appreciate the more frivolous things of life, like having ice in my drink, having water fountains everywhere, splashing around in an array of spouting fountains. Do we ever have to grow up?

As we watch the celebrations of this Fourth of July, let's not forget what our Founding Fathers created nor all of the lives given sacrificially for the freedom of this country. Shout it from the mountain tops.... LET FREEDOM RING!

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

Meet At City Hall on National Day of Prayer, 2007

Don't forget to go to your city hall and pray for our nation at noon~\ at thousands of city halls across the country, individuals will gather to pray for a moral rebirth in our country. The National Day of Prayer is an annual event established by an act of Congress which encourages Americans to pray for our nation, its people and its leaders.

It is easy and simple to do ;-) Just go to the front steps of your city hall and meet with others who will be there! Spend 20 minutes, from 12:20 - 12:40 praying for your city, county, state and nation.

A cousins' get together at Spring Break

Who is Tallest?
This is a big competition in our house. At least once a year, I want to get a chronological picture of the kids... to help remember when "someone" was smaller than "someone" else.
Here, the conditions have been changed to give an alternative view!!

Scenes from North Carolina

This is the top of the stairway that went up & over the dunes. I snapped the picture quickly as it was our first trip down to the beach around 6:30 pm on Sunday night. I could hardly get them to stop a second ;-)









Ever try to get 5 Snow people on Boogie boards at the same time? And capture it with the camera? This was the highlight of going to the beach ~ catching the waves!

Wanted to get some vacation pics on here....... hoping this is easy for family & relatives to see.
Sooo... gulp.... I'm trying out blogging. I still don't like the idea of exposing myself to the web like this, so it's gonna be limited folks!! ;-)

Bob & the kids are away (mostly) at the farm camping for the weekend. I am here at home.... by myself (mostly) catching up & creating! Fun Fun Fun. Such a recluse? I've written to Trevor, did some scrapping, had my quiet time, talked with sisters online..... went outside, delivered newspapers (what good mom wouldn't???) Wow.... quiet! it's a nice change of pace.
